Shirley is the founder of Shirley Wilson Branding and Social Media, an industry-leading marketing and strategic development company located in Islamorada, Florida. The Company was founded with the mission of combining Shirley’s 20+ year traditional digital marketing and communications background with her social media marketing expertise to create, grow and support comprehensive and integrated marketing programs.
Shirley works with companies and brands to create meaningful, results-driven experiences through digital and social media, branding and community design. Prior to owning her own company, Shirley was the senior internet marketing account executive for FloridaKeys.com, the official marketing partner for the Monroe County Tourist Development Council. In this role she managed hundreds of internet marketing projects for businesses throughout the Florida Keys and beyond including online advertising on the top tourism web sites, web design, email marketing, e-commerce, database development and much more.
In her pre-Florida Keys life, Shirley enjoyed an exciting career in the international sports marketing world highlighted by working as a project manager for two Olympic Games (1996 Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games and Sydney 2000 for NBCOlympics.com); and the LPGA Tour (Ladies Professional Golf Association) as the senior producer of LPGA.com.
Finally, in addition to her extensive personal experience, Shirley brings with her the resources of several strategic partnerships she has formed with top-level marketing professionals. Chief amongst those is Kim Garst, the co-founder of Boom! Social (www.boomsocial.net) one of the world’s leading social media marketing firms.
When not on the computer, Shirley is fortunate to be living paradise, also known as the Florida Keys. Married to an Islamorada Backcountry Fishing Guide, she absolutely LOVES to fish and actually holds the title for Largest Bonefish caught in a popular Ladies Backcountry Fishing Tournament for three years running. She also LOVES to spend time taking care of her 5-year-old daughter, two dogs, two cats, two chickens, two turtles and last but not least, one miniature horse.
Shirley also prides herself in being active in her local Florida Keys community serving as a mentor in the Take Stock in Children Program and on numerous Board of Directors including the Islamorada Chamber of Commerce (2006-2010) and Florida Keys Scenic Highway (2010-present).
