How to sort your Facebook News Feed

If you are like most Facebook users, you have most likely experienced recent frustration getting used to the new changes made to your Facebook News Feed.   In Facebook’s defense, I believe they are really attempting to give users more control over what they see in their newsfeeds which involves making some significant changes. The sooner you take the time to embrace the new changes and get the hang of the new Facebook news feed options the sooner you can continue to enjoy a positive Facebook experience.

On November 9, 2011, Facebook made another change to the Facebook News Feed sorting option that gives you even more control of what you want to “see first” in your news feed– “most recent stories first” or “highlighted stories first.”

How to sort the new Facebook News Feed:

Click on the Sort menu drop down in the top right of your News Feed to change how stories are sorted.

Recent Stories First: Stories will appear in the order they were posted. Highlighted stories will be marked with a blue corner.Highlighted Stories First: Highlighted stories you haven’t seen yet will appear at the top of your News Feed. (If you don’t see highlighted stories, it’s because there aren’t any new highlighted stories since your last visit.)
